Its become abundantly clear that Vox's blog just ain't what it used to be. Its not really his fault. The guy has gotten so big... his comment section has been inundated with idiots on par with the average youtube commenter.
That leaves us with a problem.
Where are the OG Dread Ilk to go to hang out and enjoy the same culture and commraderie we've grown accustomed to?
Welcome home boys.
I will officially commit to blogging at least twice a day. That should provide you with plenty of stuff to talk about and plenty of reason to keep the comments jumping. If I can't keep that pathetic pace up... I'll open the blog up to other Ilk to keep the content coming. Yes. You read that right. I will turn over the keys to the Bloggerblaster if need be.
now... none of this is to say I am upset or angry with Vox... or unhappy with his blog or blogging. I love the guy. I love his blog. But the fact is the comments there just aren't worth the pain in the ass of the storm fronters and alt-right retards.
So... here we are.
Round them up. You wanted to a place to hangout? Here ya go.
First
ReplyDeleteMake The Comments Great Again!
ReplyDeleteI'm in.
ReplyDeleteWill there be a big beautiful wall? And will the stormfront brigade have to pay for it?
ReplyDeleteTear it up
ReplyDeleteJoooooos
ReplyDeleteATF show back too yes plz?
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
ReplyDeleteHey.
ReplyDeleteThis should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteHey Mike gg in vpafl ii this week
ReplyDeleteNate your comment about your moron translator being broken was priceless. I still laugh to myself when i think about it
ReplyDeleteLet the love of the Enfields shine through the hate.
ReplyDeleteMy dad hated the Enfield .303, but I'd like to try it out at a range sometime.
DeleteMy dad hated the Enfield .303, but I'd like to try it out at a range sometime.
DeleteJosh - Yes, it was. Now if only I'd started Delanie Walker, I might've won.
ReplyDeleteNice. I'll be around. If you'll allow a damn dirty lawyer. If not, I'll sue for discrimination.
ReplyDeleteHey...I got lucky...I'll take it...
ReplyDeleteOh dear i forgot my manners. Greetings to you all, especially to our gracious host, Nate, and his gracious sockpuppet, Josh.
ReplyDeleteI still blame alpha game as ground zero for this
ReplyDeleteI admit I do much prefer this blog over the other, even for just lurking. As long as we get some BB on a daily basis again, whatever you do Nate it will be all good.
ReplyDeleteYay we have someone who can make us sammiches!
ReplyDeleteWelcome guys. Like I say... twice a day. even if I have to turn over the keys to some damn dirty lawyer... or JOOOOOOOO banker.
ReplyDeleteThat was too many O's
ReplyDeleteJoooooo has six O's.
For...reasons...
A nation is not a government! The Nation is not the Dirt! Correct. And a blog community is not the blog address. The blog community is not the blogger. The Dread Ilk are the Dread Ilk. And wherever they gather... is their home.
ReplyDeleteSo be it.
Gay
ReplyDeletewe need thumbs up and thumbs down buttons.

ReplyDeleteThe Pigs Are In The Azaleas
ReplyDeleteWhat Would Bane Do about the trumptards?
ReplyDeleteoh man... the VP = Safe Space meme has to sting.
ReplyDeleteWhen does Vox get his very own Mallet?
ReplyDeleteDoes he have to ask Scalzi for one?
Nate, when will you upgrade to a new comment system? This oldschool Blogger interface is triggering.
ReplyDeleteI had fun lurking here years ago, and commenting on occasion under my old name, metaljaybird/mjb. I'll be making this my daily stop again.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably the type of new guy you're complaining about having only been reading the blog for a year or so and commenting for a month or so.
ReplyDeleteI wonder though; things change, things grow. Is that so bad?
Is it your desire to create an echo chamber with which to remove yourself from "storm fronters and alt-right retards?"
echo chambers eventually die; you can't spread your ideas in an echo chamber.
We don't want an echo chamber. We want a place where adults with triple digit IQs can hang out.
ReplyDeleteYou can't have an intelligent discussion when 50% of participants are mouth breathers.
ReplyDeleteThe reason most of us loved Vox's blog in the first place was it was a collection of extremely intelligent people.
now?
That's been watered down to the point that its not worth bothering with.
Hey how can we embed boob pics and videos
ReplyDeleteWe need a token joooooo bankster too . . .
ReplyDeleteI'm your huckleberry . . . (minus the banker part) . . is an accountant good enough?
That's a good question chris
ReplyDeleteThank God! There are enough of us still around to make this a good thing. Even if we have a damn dirty lawyer, a JOOOOO bankster, or anyone else around.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad we have a real joooooo this time to be the token
ReplyDeleteYes, and he doesn't mind being called a JOOOOO
ReplyDeleteYes, and he doesn't mind being called a JOOOOO
ReplyDeleteIt's a candy, right?
Well, it is just nice to have a true representative this time around.
ReplyDeleteI've been told the .303 Enfield was a terrific rifle for battle.
ReplyDeleteThe reason most of us loved Vox's blog in the first place was it was a collection of extremely intelligent people.
ReplyDelete100% right about that. I stopped commenting awhile ago for the same reason.
I will officially commit to blogging at least twice a day.
Has anyone told Nate that a day is 24 hours and not once every six months or so?
Is this going to be just ATF topics? Inquiring minds want to know.
ReplyDelete>>we need thumbs up and thumbs down buttons.
ReplyDeleteWhat about creating a 'dreadilk' subreddit? It would have the added effect of getting an enormous quantity of Reddit SJW panties in a bunch.
Not Dread Ilk, but I've been reading over there for damn near a decade. I used to skim the posts and read the comments. Now I read the posts and skim the comments. I'm guessing that all the names I look for there in the comments will be all that I see here. My favorite comment yesterday outside the VP as safe space comment was someone questioning Nate's manhood and then quoting Lincoln.
ReplyDeleteOK, Nate. Get that next blog up. You got two coming in today.
ReplyDeleteRed six standing by.
ReplyDelete"If anyone feels this way, then don't comment here. Stick to reading and stay out of the discourse."
ReplyDeleteWhat discourse?
How long til Vox starts posting lengthy threads on your blog traffic stats, I can barely wait (sarcasm)
ReplyDeletehey.. its 8:30am... and I was up all night... doing dad stuff. cut me some slack here.
ReplyDeleteI am just yanking your chain.
ReplyDeleteyou know, as I sit here, looking at the bloggerblaster site, I see the VFM #0001 badge, and I silently mourn the loss of the better environment that existed just a few months ago at VP.
Oh FFS some window licker is preaching the Gospel of Saint Moldbug
ReplyDeletePatrick... you're not going to see a feud between me and Vox. I love the guy.
ReplyDeletegood, cause breaking my up is hard to do. :p
DeleteAnd, as a recovering lawyer myself, I will keep an eye on RB out of professional courtesy.
ReplyDeleteN5
ReplyDeleteAnd, as a recovering lawyer myself, I will keep an eye on RB out of professional courtesy.
You're a daisy if you do. Better make it two eyes, buster.
To keep an eye on both Rob and Myself, I'd have to be Janus.
DeleteOh Josh, I know how to make a whole lot more than sammiches.(grin)
ReplyDeleteHaving been around from the days of the flame wars of Bane, Nate, ChuckE, Morgan of the Lake sparring with Spacebunny, VD's blog has indeed changed.
His posts are still awesome reading, but some of the commenters are indeed not up to the quality of days of old. He does have some great regulars, but they are not the same level from the old days. Not bad, just different.
The multi post/days dead horse beating regarding the Japanese of WWII were such epic entertainment. Nobody did a free for all like those commenters from those days.
I console myself with knowing that Nate, Res, and the good Rabbi have their doors open and are offering a good place to come and kick off my shoes. It is much appreciated in these days we are currently witnessing.
Remember when all Bane had to do was a one word Mooooo in response to Morgan of the Lake and she would go off on an epic hissy fit? Good times.
Environment is not the web address and we can pretty much disagree on anything. There is no concern that this will become an echo chamber.
ReplyDeleteOh, and the commenter who deserves his own category in the VD/Nate HOF for commenters is JamieR. When he would get triggered, his stream of conscious style comments were epic.
ReplyDeleteMarriage sure has tamed him well.
"Serious Question. Are Nate and Josh the same person."
ReplyDeleteYou decide.
And welcome back again, Nate. You're early -- the Quadrantids aren't for another month.
"The Pigs Are In The Azaleas"
ReplyDeleteCan I get a F*#& You?
I can't BELIEVE it took you so long to realize this. Vox's comment section has been in the crapper for, by my count, about ten years.
You couldn't deal with CoComment. I remember.
ReplyDeleteThis gets me right in the feelz.
ReplyDelete"You couldn't deal with CoComment. I remember."
ReplyDeleteI thought it was Chief Wana Dubie that scared him away...
Chief Wana Dubie
ReplyDeleteDuuuude.
Interesting situation that has developed with regards the Dread Ilk.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear more from you, though, whatever the reason.
Good luck keeping it up, Nate. Not that you're incapable, of course... But I suspect you are someone more challenged than Vox by the opportunity cost of blogging.
Also, what happened to the Farmer Tom post at Vox's? I kind of wanted to see what transpired, but it is gone. Any insight as to why he nuked a post?
ReplyDeleteNot like Vox to puss out on that type of discussion... is he worried he hurt FT's feelings? Har. I read the post and a few comments... seems like Vox is in denial about the consequences of his success in pushing for "nationalism" in the US (which is a fucking non-starter for reasons that even Wheeler could explain).
Ah well. Good to see a bunch of the folks that made it worth reading comments over there, over here. I wish you luck.
Ok. This PROVES that God has a sense of humor. It's... just... spectacular. I googled Wanna Dubie, for old times sake and all that. Here's the first line of the first article that popped up:
ReplyDelete56-year-old Chief Wana Dubie—given name Joseph Bickell—announced his run for the seat currently held by Republican Sen. Roy Blunt.
@thimscool
ReplyDeleteHe didn't nuke the post. The first one in which Farmer Tom made his original comments is here: Muslim immigration ban is constitutional.
The followup post specifically addressing FT's comments in that one is here: Mailvox: change is inevitable.
No pussing out involved.
Bill: "56-year-old Chief Wana Dubie—given name Joseph Bickell—announced his run for the seat currently held by Republican Sen. Roy Blunt."
ReplyDeleteYup, Dubie vs. Blunt '08. Except Blunt declined to run for re-election. And the Libertarian party in Missouri declined Dubie's registration fee, essentially booting him from the party...at least for that election.
Ah. Thanks WB... Not sure how I missed them but I'm glad vox didn't go round the bend...
ReplyDeleteMy apologies for doubting your integrity Vox, if you read here.
ReplyDeleteAnd my apologies to the rest of you, and our host, for marring this thread.
Glad to see you back in action, Nate.
Blond chicks still welcome? And no, I still don't do pics. I don't look near as good as SB in a bikini.
