Welcome back to Dickson by God County. We are back up here for a few days so we're broadcasting live on location. I am in a hurry to set up... we just got off the road... so bare with me. I will have a link in just a second...
...
ok... here is the link for the show. I have no idea what we're talkin' about. Guns and booze and smokes and economics... probably... puns and off color jokes as well. And I bet someone gets a sandwich.
Give it hell y'all.

Guns: I have to thank you and Vox for the inflation v deflation debate. It gave me an idea for how to convince my husband that we needed to be prepared for what is coming. Before, he was "there, there little woman", but now he's a gun buying, prepping fanatic. So thanks for that. I have 2 new ARs, among other things. Have a great show!
I think it's time to talk about survival gardening again.
Knives!
Dang I was in Dickson 6 days ago.
Hotel in Colorado now, moving into a caretaker house I'm renting on a ranch south of Castle Rock this weekend.
Rock River CAR A4 with free float quad rail and Leupold VX-1 (2-7x33)
Colt LE6920 with Troy quad rail and Burris 3x sight.
Sig Sauer P226 .40 S&W. Picked it up last weekend at Guns and Leather in Greenbrier
Still no alcohol (2.5 years), but that's a good thing for some of us.
A: Crown Float(s)
T: Punch Churchill
F: Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk. 3 (I think), I pick it up tomorrow. Happy Father's day to me, I have great kids.
Couldn't agree more on the fruit trees. I have 2 cherry and 1 Apple tree on a suburban lot, I'll be swimming in cherry pie and jam in about 3 weeks.
A: Ancient Age (cheap, waaay better than Beam or Jack)
T: Macanudo Maduro
F: Smith and Wesson 686, bought from an old friend/gun dealer who is now passed on. Great shooter, with no small amount of sentimental value. Plus, 357's just rock.
toothy
The machete I talked about at the end took the kind of abuse that would have a regular machete all dinged up and bent. I'm talking decades of abuse. Meanwhile, I tried one of Gerber's latest sawblade machetes a couple years ago, and... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150408610035897&l=476eea8b71
I actually thought at one point I should start going around to industrial machine shops and collecting broken blades to make and resell as knives. There's a survivalist/prepper business idea, ehh?
Better link
My carry Knife. Smith & Wesson SwatMS. Excellent for one handed operation when you are in the middle of working on something without happening to drop what is in your left hand to get it out and work on something.
For the price you can't beat it.
Holds an edge well and will sharpen to shave.
Another thing about crisis gardening you can get rich selling organic seeds right now.
And Six what do you think about Freeze dried storable foods?
Here is the knife.

So Nate's in my backyard and I'm headed out toward his. A week at Gulf Shores with the fam.
A: Muchas Margaritas
T: Montecristo Classic Corona
F: Got to play around with a Steyr Aug this week. Pretty interesting.
Nate,
There looks to be an MSAR rifle on your web site for listening to the show on line. Do you own one?
What do you think of bullpups like the MSAR, Styer and Israeli army Tavor?
Sincerely
cheddarman
Hey all. I love listening to the show; keep talking about guns, tobacco, booze, and gardening. I dig it. Vidad's a funny guy too.
What's the name of that song at the end?
Salute from Minnesota.
I nearly died laughing about why you don't drink on Wednesdays.
Keep em coming, boys.
Dead by They Might Be Giants
Bourbon drinkers-- How do you drink your bourbon?
I drink mine with a drop of water. That's it.
"How do you drink your bourbon?"
Nate likes his in a pink teddy.
I like to drink mine when I run out of gin.
@Outlaw X
That's a sweet looking blade. I might have to pick one up myself. I currently carry one of these:

"And Six what do you think about Freeze dried storable foods?"
I'm not really a fan, since I'm much more interested in keeping food in the ground.
I do keep a few buckets of rice, a few buckets of dry beans, a 50lb bad of popcorn and some various canned goods in the pantry, along with about 100lbs of sugar. That's the overflow food emergency fund. However, if you grow cassava, or further north, Jerusalem artichokes, you can keep a ton of calories in the ground with very little work after the initial planting. Beyond that, there are a lot of things I plant during the winter, and others during the spring, keeping a constant flow of edibles into the kitchen. For people with bigger space - you need to grow dry beans, squash and grain corn. Those are the best for storage.
Permaculture tree food forest talk was MUCH appreciated, fellows.
@Josh, I prefer my bourbon with 2 small cubes of ice.
I like my bourbon like I like my friends.
Straight.

I am a HUGE advocate of the bullpup. All bullpups. To me... its just how a rifle should be made now. Everything else looks wasteful to me.
I do have an MSAR... and I dearly... dearly.. love it.
Astrosmith,
After rooting around in Nate's archives several years ago, I found that story. After I stopped laughing, I realized it actually increased my respect for Nate and Dr. Who. You truly married above your station in life Nate.
A man who goes through a life lesson like this and has the smarts to love his woman for giving it to him, and to know why she gave it to him, is truly a man worth knowing.
Susan...she gave it to me because she doesn't like to lose at Taboo.
@Josh, try whatever whisky you have neat. If the alcohol taste is too strong, water it to your taste.
As you become more accustomed to the whisky, you'll add less water.
Remember, most whisky is meant to be cut with a little water.
If I'm putting ice in to chill it, I usually let the cubes melt before drinking it.
The best way to enjoy whiskey is right from a white-labeled bottle late at night. With dry ramen noodles, sprinkled with dust from the flavor packages. While watching Star Trek Voyager, Enterprise, or, as a last resort, DS9.
Pro-tip: The beef dust is better than the chicken dust.
Related to our discussion on survival gardening - are grains a good idea for the small homestead?

Nate have you gotten mitts on a tavor yet?
Not yet... there is another bullpup ahead of it in line.
Nate,
I'm enjoying the show. Keep it up.
Regarding Cold Steel knives and animal kills...I think this is the most extreme example there is. The video is 12 minutes, and most of it is the guides just narrating the account, because the footage itself is pretty short, although it is in there. This is nothing short of amazing.
Y'all have to watch this.
