I Liked It.
creepy clown face!!! GAH!
Welldigger, that is truly creepy. Reminds me of Pennywise the clown from the movie It. Cured me of clown love forever.
Its a good story, too bad they didn't write it up in more detail at the time.
"Another fool exhibition of the assinine prejudice of 'chivalrous' southerners."Will the damn yankees ever tire of disparaging us?
In schooling your children, what resources are you going to use to teach your take on the Civil War? I have family members who really like Lincoln and I need some ammo for the other side of the story.
I would suggest The Real Lincoln... but not the new one. The one published in 1927 by Charles Minor.YOu haven't read scathing till you've read it.
ResGoogle it. There are other stories available with more detail.
Nate,I was already aware of the story. The reporter who wrote what you posted had an agenda that had nothing to do with the story at hand. If he had he would have taken the time to do some actual reporting and get more info. They used to call it yellow journalism, today we call it CNN, etc.The story was a smear when it was written. Gen Lee's daughter arrested, skipped her arraignment and forfeited her friends bail money, they tried the case without her, she was found to be seating in the black section. She is a bad person.I suspect the reason he didn't include more info was that it wouldn't have supported his agenda.
Found it... amazingly enough Google has a copy. Copyright 1904.
