Feds are closing waterfowl production areas to hunting due to govt shutdown.

Look at the bright side, they'll probably furlough the game warden too.

Sure now they are on vacation and assured of back pay.

Vidad

Fawlty towers only made 13 shows, that was the funniest British comedy ever produced. Manwell!

John Cleese plays the perfect neurotic hotel owner, my favorite was the rat (Hotel inspector). I also like the one when the moose fell on his head.

here you go Nate.

Intersting anecdote about Faulty Towers- apparently it was based on a real hotel/hotel manager: Donald Sinclair, an eccentric and abrasive hotelier whom John Cleese had encountered during a stay in his hotel while working on Monty Python's Flying Circus. Sinclair's widow contacted the papers to complain about the depiction of the character based on her husband, claiming that Cleese had unfairly exaggerated his incompetence, eccentricity and foul temper. Far from salvaging her husband's reputation, however, all the media attention did was provoke hundreds of people to also contact the papers with their memories of the late Mr. Sinclair, suggesting that if anything, Cleese had actually been too kind in his portrayal. The widow stopped complaining.

Dumb and Dumber?

Yikes.

Wow, I've finally come across another human who's read Pantagruel and Gargantua.

Six has this odd fascination with The Life Aquatic. Something about postmodern humor and incongruous juxtapositions that don't have to make any sense. The man has certain warped sensibilities that I can only hope will gradually true out with age and... uh... additional children.

Nate, I agree with most of your movie choices. But have you never seen "The Gods must be Crazy"? Also, there is a little-known horror comedy flick out there called "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil" that is a must-see.

I love Quigley Down Under. I know it's corny and all about the vibrancy. One man and a rifle....

Calvin and Hobbes IS the greatest. Hands down.

Casablanca is the best movie ever though. Can't believe that didn't get brought up.

most under appreciated movie in a while: last of the mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis . I think writers who updated the story line were channeling Nate, especially when they wrote Hawkeye's lines

most under appreciated tobacco: Red Man chew- I loved that stuff in basic training
