ATF: MOAR BEACH

No show tonight.. I'm still at the beach and we have very... strained... internet access.  Its not that we don't have access... its that the access... is sketchy to the point that there is no way to get through an hour long show.

I'm pretty irritated... but what can ya do?  Well... you can smoke and drink.

And so...

A: Ranger IPA:  Look... you're either an IPA guy or you're not. If you're not... you'll hate it. If you are... you'll love it.  That's my prediction anyway.

T: I'm still working on this R&J HAVOCs.  They are fabulous... but small for my taste.  I prefer a longer smoke.  I feel like I am just getting into the smoke and these are done.  Damned nice.  But they aren't gonna replace my Gurkhas.

F: 2 Steyr M-40A-1s...  and a springfield 1911.  Because reloading is bullshit.

I need to set up my own blogtalk account and hold shows the night you're gone. I'm bummed.

On my show we can talk about gin, art, gardening and trip-hop.

A: Jim Beam Black
T: Iron Horse maduro
F: DeWalt Sawsall. I just cut through a 12" tree trunk with one this afternoon. Aw yeah.

A: Shocktop Belgian White

T: La Gloria Cubana something (I hate vague bands, because if I really like it, I don't know what to get).

F: Cheaply scoped Norinco SKS w/synthetic stock

I could dig a Six show. With Outlaw X even better.

Also, is Vox ever going to call in? That would be cool, too.

toothy

Outlaw X said...

Yeah, and if I am awake can call in about buffer strips, riparian buffers and conservation farming on a large scale. You could call it The gardening and farming show.

Ok, we'll let you get away with it this time. But next week you'll have to give a shout out for General Lee's birthday.

Nate said...

it'll happen. No doubt.

The two guys on the must interview list are Vox and dh. I really want to get him on to talk tobacco and about his new background check business.

Great idea Vidad. You could also talk about how Nate doesn't keep his word regarding forecasted blog posts, and how when he's at the beach, he secretly drinks cocktails with umbrellas in them.

A: Mead.

T: Sutliff Byzantium.

F: Modded AK. Quad rail installed. Bushnell TRS-25 micro red dot sight, a really sweet little number. It seems to be tough. It's waterproof, and you don't need to center the reticule.

Is Vox a cigar guy?

Vidad said...

Vox smokes thin cigarillos in holders no less than 12" long. And only holds them with white gloves.

Folks, Outlaw, isn't going to be around much longer. Nate is doing very well. Vidad and Nate are young men. Anyone depending on me to entertain you has not a clue of health issues I face. While I appreciate your kind words in the end that is all they are.

Time is short, life is short and God is king of all things. Tuck your children in well at night and remember all those that came before you.

I still have dreams of my father who died ten years ago, he is with me and will always be. Hit your knees and thank God for the time he has given you.

It is not about a show, it is about you and God.

May God bless you in the kingdom and the inheritance.

Outlaw,

You have my prayers and best wishes.

Susan said...

Outlaw, we know and understand about your health issues. I guess what we are doing is trying to make some memories and to show you some appreciation and love while you are still here.

Instead of when you are gone and can't appreciate it. You have come to mean a lot to us Outlaw and we can appreciate your history. After all, we don't get to talk to a guy who went "toe to toe" with "porn'stashe" very often.

Outlaw-X,

I agree with Susan. Could hardly say it better myself. You are a blessing to have around, so don't be in a hurry to check out of this world, and tell us a few more stories if you can. For most of us, it is about more than being entertained, it is about seeing a bit of the Kingdom through the eyes of our favorite redneck sage. And, seeing the Kingdom is always good.

Pax Vobiscum.

Pax Christi Techum.

(hope i got that right)

A: My dad's dry home made wine, vintage 1970-something, helped him harvest the grapes from a vineyard along the Ohio river
T: Sunberry flavored Oliver Twist smokeless tobacco
F: A 338 lapua on an AR-10 platform, with my recoil buffer that hopefully tames the recoil a bit

A 338 lapua on an AR-10 platform,

Cool. We could use some pics of this rig too.

Res Ipsa,

A company named Noreen Firearms makes a 300 win mag and 338 lapua on an AR type platform

Sorry I missed last night, late posting now.

A: Booker's, still got about 1/2 bottle left.

T: none lately

F: Still my AR frankenbuild. Took it out to compare some of the local available shelf ammo. The HyperClean 60gr Hornady Amax had the best 10 shot groups at 200 yards, but was consistently about 1 - 1.5 moa right of the other ammo; UltraMax 55gr sp and HyperClean 75gr bthp match.

I think the 75gr would have done better if I wasn't already 20 rounds tired and twitchy by the time I got to it, wasn't bad tho...

No chrono, but from the 60gr Amax POI vs. POA elevation must be close to what the military 5.56 M855 does, which this rifle still seems to love the best.

Lord have mercy and bless you.

I know I've annoyed and pissed you off from time to time on the blogs, but I hope you will accept my prayers and sorrow from hearing about your health struggles.

From the times your steel has struck mine I truly believe mine is now sharper and stronger, and I hope you might find some pleasure or comfort in that.

I'm sorry I don't remember ever crossing swords with you. But then again I don't hold grudges and are soon forgotten, but I beat my brains out trying to figure out when we crossed swords.

I think it funny by the way that Dick Cheney was in the front of the line to get a new heart. He wants to live forever and was afraid someone would hack his old heart machine.

I hope he gets his wish and gets to live forever in the shithole he was partially responsible for creating.

Afraid of dying must be the ultimate punishment of mankind in his fallen nature.

I'll tell you one other thing before I go to bed. My father never feared death in the end and always had a smile. He was eat up from lung cancer for smoking I believe. Us boys never smoked.

But when he became unconscious and mother called me in he was gibbering she said. I listened closely to what he was saying, and know for a fact he never read it he was directly quoting "HUMANAE VITAE".

When I told her that I asked if he had been reading it and she said neither of us ever had.

Just saw this morning where the AP reports that the Japanese holding company named Suntory is buying the Maker's Mark and Jim Beam brands.

Hopefully they won't change things for the worse. I did read though that they have their own distilleries for whiskey and bourbon in Japan. Never tried any of their stuff.

Too much bourbon for breakfast.

WaterBoy said...

Susan, were you commenting from a phone or tablet?

Seems like it most often occurs from such devices; when you try to refresh the page, it resends the cached information from the previous version of the page that contains your comment.

The solution appears to be to close and reopen the browser app, then renavigate to that page. There may be an easier fix regarding browser settings on the clearance of caches and such, but I'm not really that familiar with them since I rarely comment from a phone.
