Reloading Advice

Guys...

Go buy powder this week.  Stock up.  I know its hard to find.  But we're approaching take what you can get time.  Maybe its not the best powder for your favorite load.  So what?  Most times you can find a safe load for just about any powder.

IEDs just went off on American soil.  What are the odds they won't come after gun powder?

I sincerely hope I'm wrong.  I'm not trying to be chicken little here.  I'm just saying... it makes sense doesn't it?  You don't have to be a conspiracy nut and think Boston was a false flag to see the writing on the wall.  The powder ban is extremely predictable, and just to tempting for the politicians.

That's my advice.  Take it or leave it.

Tell you what I did this week, bought 2,000 rounds of 9mm JHP. And, I don't own a 9.

What do you think of the Steyr M9? I have an M40 and love it. I figure with the way the ammo is, the gun is the cheapest part of the deal.

I agree whole heartedly here guys. I hope recent events have made all of you fence sitters realize that when Nate says something, you had all better listen to him.

I have to wonder about the false flag part though. From what I have been reading the last couple of days, this situation actually could pose quite a problem for the liberal agenda, specifically immigration and guns.

I noticed today that there are a lot of people now willing to come forward with their suspicions and admit that Sandy Hook could be a false flag. I am not talking the writers, but the commenters after the article.

The M9 is every bit as fantastic as the M40. Its just in 9mm. I find that 9mm ammo, is actually harder to get than .40 ammo and is in fact actually more expensive because of it.

Already had a bunch ordered on the way. Can't find much on the shelves here lately.

FWIW, my understanding is black powder is better for IED purposes than smokeless, ( no first hand experience but know someone who is a *legal* fireworks manufacturer) but I'm sure that distinction will have the same importance to TPTB as between semi and full automatic.

forgive the intrusion, I've happened here from VD's place.

Nates correct - get what you can even if you don't reload, at the very least you may be able to trade it for something you need in the future - I do hope the above info is not true, my gut tells me otherwise

You can get powder?

We've been out for months and the stores ration what they have when they do get some in.

as of Sunday powder and primers were available here, rationed to 2 containers powder 1 box primers - not all types of powder were available - mostly powder rated for large rifle rounds (50 bmg) i don't reload but went with my brother in law who does - and picked up what we could

OT: Nate, your comment at VP about the role of safe deposit boxes in the 1933 confiscations was timely. I just found out that several people I know have been storing their metals there.

Nate said...

Then For F's Sake tell them to get the gold out NOW.

We have primers in stock. It's just that as soon as anybody gets powder its sold out.

Just saw in the news today, that some Senator wants to introduce background checks for buying ammo and powder for reloading.

Res, do you have a friend or two that you can hook up with and maybe between the two or three of you, whoever sees ammo, powder, etc available at any given time, could buy it in an instant and then that buyer could be reimbursed by the rest? Does that make sense?

Res, I guess what I am talking about is an co-op type of group, but instead of food, you go for all the ammo and supplies you can get your hands on.

The co-op idea hit me as soon as I hit publish.

Seriously? What kind of a dumbass trusts a bank to watch their stuff?

You need some smarter friends.

You may be right on powder, Nate. That seems entirely possible.

Additionally, it might be time to stock up on fertilizer. Gardening on bad soil will be tough if they start limiting those purchases.

composting! Deadly!!!

Susan,

Yes I do. One guy works in the store and calls when the shipment arrives. I live in a rural area and there are only two gun stores in town. The next nearest town is 140 miles away and the next closest one after that is 160 miles away. The largest seller of powder in the state is about 120 miles from my door and he can get you 1lb but geting 4 or 8lb kegs is impossible. I consider myself lucky to get 2 1lb's from the same production lot.

@Nate

I gave a gardening talk at a local Home Depot last night.

A lady asked me, "What's the best thing I can feed my banana trees?"

I said "Do you have a septic tank?"

Now THAT'S fertilizer.
